Try this first on a spare piece of paper in case something goes wrong.

1. Mark the middle of your paper at the top and bottom.

2. Using a ruler and a tool like a mechanical pencil with the lead retracted, score a groove down the middle.

3. Be as precise as possible, making sure the ruler is perfectly aligned with your marks.
